Dr. Kwang Yul Cha Donates to Stem Cell Research Efforts
With the turn of the decade being just a few years away, it may be hard for many to believe that some diseases still have no cure after years and years of research. This is why Dr. Kwang Yul Cha is so passionate about stem cell therapy, which has the potential to usher the medical field into a total new era of treatment success. Dr. Kwang Yul Cha, a leading medical doctor and businessman, recently demonstrated his faith in the stem cell research field by donating millions of dollars to a stem cell trial center.
Giving to Stem Cell Research
The chairman of CHA Health Systems, also known as CHS, gave $10 million to the Chaum International Stem Cell Clinical Trial Center during its opening ceremony. He believes that this center will help to change the health care industry, with stem cell therapy–related research and development involving incurable diseases paving the way for long-awaited cures. The center is slated to become the globe’s sole one-stop center where patients can access stem cell/ drug development.
Why Stem Cells?
Stem cell research is so critical because of human development from these types of cells. A better understanding of the attributes of stem cells may help researchers to learn more about early-stage human development. Specifically, understanding what happens in the division of stem cells to cause cancer may help scientists to find new ways of preventing the dysfunctional changes using targeted drugs.
